Our Journey: JLS Media Solutions Timeline

From pioneering rugby league websites in the 1990s to delivering sports photography, videography, and social media strategy in New Zealand today, JLS Media Solutions has built a legacy of innovation, creativity, and dedication to visual storytelling. Explore our timeline below:

1996

Designed and published our very first website for Display Factory Group (DFG.co.uk).

1999

Launched RugbyLinks.co.uk, one of the first Rugby Portals online, featuring club news, player photos, and links to Super League and Northern Ford Premiership clubs.

2001

Partnered with Dewsbury Rams to produce their matchday programme and maintain the official club website.

2002

Created one of the first mobile-friendly Rugby League websites with the Dewsbury Rams WAP site.

2003

Rebranded RugbyLinks.co.uk as RugbyLeague.org, integrating club sites, news, forums, shop, and galleries.

2004

Welcomed official fans forums of Featherstone Rovers, Batley Bulldogs, Workington Town, Barrow Raiders, Sheffield Eagles, and Dewsbury Rams to RugbyLeague.org.

2005

Provided hosting and web services for the official sites of Batley Bulldogs and Dewsbury Rams.

2006

Accredited Media Status for Rugby Football League (RFL UK). RugbyLeague.org reached 25,000 members.

2007

Launched Ossett.com, a sports and community photo archive.

2008

Became the official photographer for Ossett Albion AFC.

2009

Appointed official photographer for Bradford City FC GCOE. RugbyLeague.org merged with League Express, creating the world’s largest Rugby League portal with newspaper circulation.

2010

Media project at Ossett Albion FC, uniting all divisions of the club. Designed and produced Dewsbury Celtic RLFC programme and managed their website.

2011

Partnership with Leeds United FC to provide GCOE players with photographic match memories.

2013

Established JLSPhotographs.com in New Zealand to capture the spirit of football from grassroots to elite.

2014

Appointed official Papatoetoe AFC photographer (Women’s Premier League & Men’s Division 2). Elected to club board in Media capacity.

2016

Assisted Eastern Suburbs AFC with social media and online presence during the Stirling Sports Premiership season.

2018

Appointed Director of Media at Eastern Suburbs AFC, creating live streaming strategies to meet online supporter demand.

2019

Freelance Photographer for Pakuranga United Rugby Club and Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club.

2022

Freelance Photographer for Botany Swarm and the New Zealand Ice Hockey League.

2023

Freelance Photographer for Howick Pakuranga Hockey Club.
